Suzan Hughes-Kennedy
I am a Proud Army B.R.A.T. from Texas, U.S. Navy Veteran, retired Secondary Art Teacher, and Award winning artist who loves color. Happily fulfilling my artistic dreams from my studio kitchen in a rural area north of Sweetwater, Texas.
Acrylics, watercolor and pen and ink are my mediums of choice. I love experimenting with color and using a wide range of hues in my paintings. During my undergraduate studies at Georgia State University, ceramics and sculpting was my area of specialization and now use these experiences in my paintings. I like the challenge of creating the illusion of space on a two dimensional surface.
I teach privately, am one of the five worship artists at Emmanuel Fellowship Church in Sweetwater and hold workshops in a variety of media. Empowering people with tools and techniques, giving them confidence in the ability to express themselves artistically is very important to me as a teacher.
Believe creating art brings freedom to the artist and beauty to the environment.
